Active Status News (July 2000)

We, as judges, have always been required to complete active status cards (blue cards) each year. It is a requirement explained thoroughly in Rules and Policies, page 90.

This year at the SJD workshop we were told that USAG is serious about Active Status due to the importance. You are NOT to be allowed to judge a USAG sanctioned meet unless you have completed the active status requirements. From now on, USAG will be checking the sanction forms for judges who have not completed their Active Status requirements. Sanctions are in jeopardy if problems with Active Status are found. This is a serious insurance issue for the clubs and judges alike. In addition, in January 2001, the names of judges who have not completed the requirements will be published in Technique Magazine. We certainly do not want any Nor-Cal Judges’ names to be published on the list. If you have a problem, please contact Cara Gibson and Jennifer Shipman, and we will see if we can figure something out.

Requirement for New Judges

If you are a new Level 5/6 judge who tested in the first half of the year (Jan-June), you have until your test date of the following year to complete your Active Status requirements and turn in your card. Another card must be completed by December of that year.

If you tested in the last half of the year (July-Dec), you have until your test date of the following year to complete your requirements and to turn in your card. Your next card is due at the end of the next year.

If you have any questions, you can call our Active Status Coordinator, Cara Gibson.
